すごいタイトルですね、このドキュメンタリー。
こりゃDr. Watsonだろうと思ったが、実はホームズとコナン・ドイルのファンのRichard Lancelyn Greenという人についてのドキュメンタリーです。

お金持ちのお坊ちゃまとして、Oxford卒のGreenさんは子供の時から死ぬまで、就職もせず、結婚もせず（まあ、同性愛者だそうですが）、ホームズとコナン・ドイルの研究に一生をかけて、50歳で謎の変死を迎えました。自殺か他殺か今まで誰も知らない…って、確かにすごいな…

ホームズよりバリツ…？

「神戸でシャーロックに驚いた」

神戸では日暮雅道さんからバリツ=バーティツのレクチャー本を見せていただいて、こん本あるんですか！とビックリ。

そりゃビックリだよ！ああ、ほしい～～



最近、暇だし、橘高さんのファンのmiyaguchiさんもホームズにハマってるらしいし、オーケンのエッセー「地上最強の格闘技バリツとシャーロック・ホームズの謎」を中国語に無断翻訳してみました（堂々と言うな！）。最後まで読んでくれる人がいるのかしら…

考えてみたら、実は推理が苦手で、ホームズにもあんまり興味がないのに、映画とかドラマとかホームズをけっこう見てきましたね。まあ、俳優のためだな。



例えば、Leslie Howardのお子さんのRonald Howardの主演した「Sherlock Holmes」（1954–1955）を見てみました。私の見た一番古いホームズドラマでありながら、一番ホームズらしくないホームズだろう。ぜんぜん暗くなくて、楽しいヤツだなって感じ。個人的には好きなんだけど。



Richard E. Grantはホームズ役が似合うと言われてるんですが、なかなかチャンスがなかった。青年ホームズについての「Sherlock」（2002）というクソ映画にMycroft役を演じたり、同じ2002年の「The Hound of the Baskervilles」にJack Stapleton役を演じたり…まあ、強いて言えば、1992年に「Encounters」というテレビシリーズの「The Other Side」というエピソードにホームズ（だと思い込んでる）役もやりましたが、残念ながら、いい作品とは言えないだろう。



自分がホームズだと思い込んでるって言ったら、「They Might Be Giants」（1971）という映画には、George C. Scottもこのような精神病者を演じたな。Joanne Woodwardの演じた精神科医Watsonといろいろわけわからないことをやりまくった（笑）。わけわからないけど、けっこう面白いな。

前に言った「The Hound of the Baskervilles」（2002）には、Ian Hartの演じたWatsonがかわいいから、ついでに次作の「Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking」（2004）をも見ました。前作にホームズ役がオーストラリア人のRichard Roxburghに演じられたなんて嫌がられたか、この映画には、イギリス人のRupert Everettになったけど、wrong castだったんだろう。確かにデカダンスでかっこういい男ですが、ホームズのタフさ、オタク感と精力的な一面をよく表現してくれなかったな。



80年代Ian Richardsonバージョンのホームズ（「The Hound Of The Baskervilles」と「The Sign of Four」）は演技的にも、制作的にも問題がなかったが、1990年に演じた「House of Cards」の政治家があまりにも印象深いから、どうしてもホームズには見えなかった (orz)。



1977年John Cleeseバージョン（「The Strange Case of the End of Civilization as We Know It」）も見ましたが、もちろんパロディです。聞取りが下手だから、面白そうで分からない所がいっぱいあって、自分の無力さにイライラした……



Buster Keaton「Sherlock, Jr.」（1924）のようなサイレント映画だったら、英語なんて分らなくても楽しめるだろう！いや、これはホームズとはぜんぜん関係がないけど。



同じパロディと言えば、Peter CookとDudley Mooreのお笑いコンビ（？）の「The Hound Of The Baskervilles」（1978）も見たいな。



Billy Wilder監督も「The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes」（1970）というホームズ映画を作ったが、なんでホームズが女と恋しなきゃならないの！って私の不満が誰かわかってくれ！>_<

今やってるドラマ「Sherlock」なら、S01E01を見てみたが、もうそれっきり。Russell T. Daviesがいやだから、Doctor Whoの脚本家と言ったら、Steven Moffatのほうがマシだと思うが、「Sherlock」の脚本がホームズドラマとしてはちょっとレベル低いじゃない？いや、本当はやっぱキャスティングには興味がないだけかも。「Office」が私の初めて見たイギリスドラマで、今でも一番好きなイギリスドラマかもしれないが、なぜか主演のMartin Freemanには興味が出てこないな。まあ、「時効警察」もそう、オダギリジョーをどうしても好きになれない。

Guy Ritchieの「Sherlock Holmes」（2009）も友達と一緒に見ましたが、世界を救ったスーパーヒーローホームズって、もう見たくないね。Robert Downey Jr.がかわいいけど、2011年「A Game of Shadows」にStephen Fryの演じたMycroftもすごく見たいけど（TAT）。



先日、miyaguchiさんのおかげで、元ソ連のドラマ「Sherlok Kholms i doktor Vatson: Znakomstvo」をもちょっと見ましたが、見ながら中国ツイターのweiboをやってたから（だから、ホームズなんて興味ねえって言ったんだろう！>_<）、たまたまJeremy Brettの写真に出会っちゃった。



もうほかのホームズを見る気がなくなってごめんなさい。

another year of shanghai international film festival

if it had been someone else, i might have been mean and claimed it's discrimination against single people. but it was mike leigh, so i decided to accept it. 'cause throughout all eternity, i forgive you, you forgive me, ahaha. sorry this line just slipped in my mind i don't know why.

actually, the film's still brilliant, it's just i wasn't touched as before. all the love i had for his characters over the years. and now i just failed to feel anything for anyone in this film.

maybe he's not the one that changed. it's me here, over 30, single, bitter, stuck with my own little pathetic principles or political correctness, and determined to live this way till i die. but crying for love? no way, never. you wait and see, you old bastard.

but no, the desperate single 50+ woman wasn't the real problem. i guess it's the well balanced perfect family that put me off. if there's only one thing in this entire universe that i don't believe in, it's a perfect family. and i can't believe there is anyone who can really believe in such thing, let alone mike leigh out of the whole human race.

by the way, shanghai international film festival still sucks this year. but thank god there's beijing international film festival to show how worse things could be.

板尾創路の脱獄王

第一印象と言ったら、エゴがデカい！vincent galloを思い出させられるほどエゴがデカい！そのクールで宗教的な雰囲気、何なんだ！自分のカッコウよさを見せるために作った映画なのか！

で、最後になって、へえ！ただのギャグじゃないか！別に何の意味もないじゃないか！なんかよかったなってほっとした。

いや、挿入曲の使い方がやっぱりめちゃくちゃわけわかんないけどな。なんでいきなり歌わなきゃならないんだろう。「ふれあい」って、いい曲なんだけど。

まあ、全体的に面白いと思うね。DVD特典としてのインタビューBOOKもけっこう面白い。「板尾創路とピエール瀧の考える文化　ハチ公はなぜ剥製にされたのか？」という対談本も昨日から読んでるけど、正直、「いや、それはちょっと…」と思っちゃうこともあるから、やっぱこのインタビューがよかったな。

ちなみに、映画の中の刑務所が美しいな。本当の刑務所じゃないと知った時、ちょっとがっかりしたな（笑）。

あっ、そう、最近板尾創路という人にはちょっと好奇心がわいてるんだね。何故なら、自分には俳優を見る目ってか、人を見る目が無駄にあり過ぎるという勝手な自信を持ってる人として、この人だけに、わからないなって感じ。松本人志「さや侍」のきっかけで見た時、なんだか普通の人がよさそうなおっさんだなと思ったのに、ちょっと調べてみたら、へえ、シュールな芸風の芸人さんなの！？そしてそういう芸風って、突っ込んでくれる人がいなかったら、観客としてそのまま凍え死にしちゃうよ！できるだけ映画とかドラマとかお笑い番組とか見てみたが、やっぱりよくわからない。いや、実はやっぱり普通の人がいいおっさんかも（笑）。人生唯一の自信が叩き潰された。

ドラマといえば、主演の「木下部長とボク」と「デカ黒川鈴木」を見ましたが、なんか芸人キャラの存在が大きすぎてちょっと残念。普通にいい俳優だから、普通に演技させればいいのに。両方とも大宮エリーさんの脚本だよね。wikipediaによると、"大宮作品の多くに板尾創路が出演するが、これは「橋田壽賀子と泉ピン子のようにコンビで作品を出し続けよう」という両者の約束によるもの"だそうですが、また一緒にやったら、芸人キャラなんて気にせずに脚本を書いてあげてくれればいいなと思います。ウケ狙いってことかもしれないが、日本のお笑いワールドについて何も知らない外人観客として、ちょっともったいないって感じですね。

今まで板尾さん出演の映画を19本、テレビドラマを4本、「ダウンタウンのガキの使い」、「爆笑大日本アカン警察」、「音楽番組を板尾創路」とかバラエティ番組と吉本新喜劇をネットでちょっと見ましたが、いや、そもそも映画のおかげで出会ったので先入観もあると思いますが、もしかしたら、板尾さん、映画のほうに向いてるかも？ >_<
